Lower Bel Air is home to many of the most significant and expensive estates in Bel Air. Lower Bel Air is bounded by Sunset Blvd to the south, the 405 on the west, North Carolwood and Angelo Drives on the east with Bel Air Rd and Chalon drive "roughly" on the north.

Lower Bel Air is also home to the neighborhoods of Ashdale|Glenroy, Bel Air Estates (East Gate-Old Bel Air), Lower Casiano, Moraga Drive, Moraga Estates, Thurston Area and West Gate.
