Edgecliffe Terrace, built in 2012, is a modern interpretation of the mid-century modern aesthetic. The project reflects its location in Silver Lake, the eclectic los angeles neighborhood where MCM masters including Neutra, ain, Shindler, and Lautner all worked. Although focused on details and connections and incorporating key elements including corner glass, natural cedar siding, and metal exterior accents, the project remains a traditional development with straightforward construction means and methods. The project employs extensive sustainable elements and features including solar photovoltaic systems, high performance envelopes, renewable and low/no VOC finishes, passive solar orientation, water efficient landscaping, and a pedestrian focus.
