La Brea Terrace is located behind gates, north of Franklin Ave and La Brea in the Hollywood Hills. Secluded in the foothills east of Runyon Canyon, this private enclave is home to only 12 residences and has long been popular amongst the showbiz crowd due to its privacy and exclusivity. Former residents include Charles Laughton, Diane Keaton, Helen Mirren and Taylor Hackford.
2000 La Brea Terrace was designed in 1941 by C. Raimond Johnson, USC's primary architect from 1937 until 1955. Set on 1.8 wooded acres, the 8,500 sq ft streamline Moderne influenced home has five bedrooms and seven baths, and features a two-story entry with a stunning curved staircase, hardwood floors, curved walls and terraces, a professional-grade kitchen, and huge picture windows offering views to Downtown LA.
